देश की रक्षा के लिए पुरुषों के साथ अब राजस्थान की बहू-बेटियां भी आगे आ रही हैं। ऐसी ही एक राजपूताने की बहू हैं प्रेरणा सिंह, जिन्होंने आर्मी ज्वाइन कर देश की सेवा करने का निर्णय लिया है। प्रेरणा सिंह अपने गाँव की पहली महिला हैं जो आर्मी में मेजर बानी हैं।
प्रेरणा सिंह ने 2011 में आर्मी ज्वॉइन की थी। इससे पहले उनकी पोस्टिंग मेरठ एवं जयपुर में थी, फिलहाल वो पुणे में पोस्टेड हैं। प्रेरणा सिंह का 6 साल बाद उनका मेजर की पोस्ट पर प्रमोशन हुआ है।

जोधपुर के इन्द्रोका गाँव में जन्मी प्रेरणा सिंह की शादी 4 साल पहले झुंझनू के मंधाता सिंह से हुई है। प्रेरणा पति मंधाता सिंह एक वकील हैं। उनकी एक 3 साल की बेटी प्रतिष्ठा भी है। फिलहाल प्रेरणा का परिवार जयपुर में रहता है।

प्रेरणा के ससुर संपत बहू की इस कामयाबी से काफी खुश हैं। उन्होंने बताया कि उनके गांव से प्रेरणा ऐसी पहली बहू है जो इंडियन आर्मी में बतौर अफसर पोस्टेड हुई हैं। हमें उस पर गर्व है। वह हमारे लिए बेटी जैसी है। शायद यही बजह है की मेजर बनने की पहली सूचना प्रेरणा ने अपने दादा ससुर रिटायर्ड आरएएस को दी और उनका आशीर्वाद लिया।
प्रेरणा घर में रहने के दौरान राजपूतों के पारम्परिक परिधान में ही रहना पसंद करती हैं। उन्हें इस ड्रेस में देखकर कोई अंदाज भी नहीं लगा सकता कि वह आर्मी में मेजर है।
